Yes I love smoothie bowls! It’s like eating dessert for breakfast!
No worries...it is so nutritious!
Mangos are mentioned in my current read many times-How Not to Age by Michel Gregor, MD which led me to fixing a mango smoothie bowl…
Obviously we are all aging & the older we get, the more we are at risk of chronic illness-aging itself is a risk factor.
Why not learn ways to age gracefully by implementing ways to reduce our risk & actually enjoy as many years as possible?!
Extra time living out our passions, more time with family/friends, less money & resources on medical bills...sounds like a win-win to me!
And it doesn’t have to be boring or complicated or tasteless. Check out this smoothie bowl I put together featuring mango!
Why? According to Gregor's research, mangos contain the third highest level of the “anti-aging vitamin” spermidine, reduce DNA damage, create more healthy bacteria in our guts, and can reduce wrinkles. So happy mangos are one of my faves!
Blend the following together
*1 cup frozen mango
*1/2 Avocado- fiber, potassium, healthy fats plus it gives the smoothie bowl a more whipped/creamy consistency
*1/8 frozen banana- regulate blood pressure, good for gut health, potassium (good to add just the right amount of sweetness)
*broccoli sprout powder- major disease fighting antioxidants
*ground flax- fiber, healthy fats
optional vanilla protein powder-this is considered processed so make sure to get one only with ingredients you recognize
1/2 cup unsweetened soy milk- lowers cholesterol, increases longevity
½ teaspoon vanilla extract- a little extra yummy vanilla
My toppings: toasted coconut flakes, hemp seeds, walnuts and PLANTSTRONG granola.
Go wild with your toppings & make it your own.
*Also mentioned in the book for a later post…
Add some mangos to your menu and take control of your own health today!!
